The changing landscape of the insurance industry

Most of us know the feeling of answering the phone to hear an unfamiliar but overly-friendly voice. As we try to figure out the identity of the caller, the following 'trigger' words are mentioned: death & disability, critical illness and guaranteed returns. It then dawns upon us that we have on the other end of the line, a financial planner, otherwise known as the dreaded insurance agent.

Business Ethics

The definition of the word business is, "the occupation, work, or trade in which a person is engaged" and the definition of the word ethics is, "a set of principles of right conduct/ a theory or a system of moral values". Therefore, by definition, business ethics would mean, the system of moral values and principles in the occupation, work or trade in which a person is engaged. Now, that was easily stated. But, behaving ethically while conducting a profitable business is a whole matter together.
