3 Lessons from Running

Confession: I am a running junkie.

While others spend their weekend mornings in bed, I lace up my Nikes and head outside for a six-mile run. Running is an invigorating and therapeutic experience – it rids my mind of negativity, empowers me and allows me to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

With that said, a runner’s journey is not always a walk in the park (it’s often several sprints). It involves many uphill battles (literally) and requires plenty of discipline, commitment and most importantly, patience. (Read More Here!)

It’s been said that dance is the expression of the body and soul to articulate what words can’t, and in my experience that’s been very true! When I first started dancing at the age of 12, it allowed me to take a break from my routine and express my emotions – emotions that could not be fully shared with friends or family.

Having since been consumed with the demands of adult life, discontinuing my dancing was the only option. Nevertheless, my six years of experience in dance has left behind many meaningful life lessons. Valuable Career Lessons from Thomas Edison

As a young boy, Thomas Alva Edison was home-schooled by his mother and by the age of 12, he was selling newspapers and candies to train passengers. Edison took on different jobs as he grew up in order to support his parents and himself.

Although he faced several ups and downs in life, nothing stopped him from devising and carrying out experiments and presenting new inventions to the world, with the most famous being the electric light bulb.

Even as we commemorate Edison's death anniversary this week (18 Oct), Edison will always be remembered as a scientist constantly in tireless pursuit of new inventions, and his life story presents many lessons we can profitably apply to the workplace. (Read More Here!)
