Burning passion to save lives

23-year old SGT Norhaizad Bin Idris was a full-time National Serviceman with The Singapore Civil Defence Force as a fire fighter when he realised that he had a burning passion for fire fighting and rescue operations. Armed with a Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, he finally chose to join SCDF as a regular. Despite knowing the high risks involved in this job, SGT Norhaizad’s family recognises the important role that he plays in this organisation and strongly supported his decision to become part of SCDF. That was 3 years ago. Now, he is serving in Ang Mo Kio Fire Station as a Fire & Rescue Specialist (FRS).
